I Miss My Friend
Over the years I have met many women I call friends but there are some who just capture your heart. You know when you meet them that there is a connection, a spiritual connection and they are going to be a friend for life. I have a handful of these friends one of them is Julia Roberts (zollywood name of course). In the last four years we have shared much about the Lord. She is still in Sydney and I hadn't realised how deep our friendship really was. We as women need to understand the value in a cup of tea, a quick phone call or a shoulder to cry on. In the body of Christ we are not meant to struggle alone as women. We are to embrace our friendships and be there to hold each other up, encourage each other and pray for each other. I miss my friend and our times together and that was the inspiration for this little poem. I am now expectant for the Lord to bring new relationships into both of our lives.
I miss my friend.
Our cups of tea,
The talks about our lives.
I miss my friend.
When we would cry
And take the kids on drives.
I miss my friend.
And how we'd laugh
When watching pay TV.
I miss my friend
So very much.
I want her here with me.
I miss my friend
Our times of prayer
When things seemed to get worse.
I miss my friend.
Her many wise words
With pen and bible verse.
I miss my friend.
She's on the phone
I really want to say.
I miss you friend.
A lot you know
But especially today.
