He's Good This Week
Not all of our marriages are easy.  I have friends and relatives that are trusting the Lord for breakthroughs with their partners. Some situations are hard to believe yet they are real life for the people involved. My heart aches for the women and children who are hurt and abused by their fathers and husbands. The following poem was written when I was thinking about one precious friend whose marriage is a roller coaster. Her children live in fear, their life is in turmoil. There is only one who can deliver....Jesus.

"He's good this week",
I heard you say.
"He's kind and nice
I think I'll stay."

You look OK
The kids do too,
But it's behind closed doors
Where he hurts you.

I see your pain
Though you try to hide
It's obvious
That you're aching inside.

"I could never leave
It just wouldn't be right!
I've asked the Lord
From morning 'til night"

But your children are hurting.
Just do it for them.
She'll marry the same.
He'll act out like him.

I know a promise
From my Heavenly Father
That you'll live life in safety
And lie down in green pastures.

He can rescue you
Without any shame.
He'll anoint your life
And take away your pain.

He's a father, a husband,
A refuge in trouble.
He's a provider, and promises
To repay you double!

God heals your life,
Emotions and scars.
He always loves you.
He won't push you too far.

Just obey HIM who speaks
Tenderly to you.
His heart is towards you,
You'll know what to do.

"He's been good this week,"
I heard you say.
I hope one day your life's OK.

There is one precious scripture that spoke very clearly to me about the heart of the father concerning marriage and also about Gods heart as a husband. HOSEA 2:14-20
Therefore, I will now allure her, and bring her into the wilderness, and speak tenderly to her. From there I will give her her vineyards, and make the Valley of Achor a door of hope. There she shall respond as in the days of her youth, as at the time when she came out of the land of Egypt.  On that day, says the LORD, you will call me, "My husband," and no longer will you call me, "My Baal."  For I will remove the names of the Baals from her mouth, and they shall be mentioned by name no more.
I will make for you a covenant on that day with the wild animals, the birds of the air, and the creeping things of the ground; and I will abolish the bow, the sword, and war from the land; and I will make you lie down in safety.  And I will take you for my wife forever; I will take you for my wife in righteousness and in justice, in steadfast love, and in mercy.  I will take you for my wife in faithfulness; and you shall know the LORD.
