New Friends
It's coming up to around the eighteen month mark since our move. It has been difficult at times establishing new friendships and releasing the old. One of my most precious friends is Grace and she is now in New Zealand. We stay in touch via email and phone but sometimes the ache for her to be close by is hard to handle. We have been friends for fifteen years and as you can imagine have been through alot as friends. So establishing new friendships to any degree of depth seems difficult as no one knows me, each person here is new and our time together has been limited.
Last week the Lord showed me something interesting. We have a cell group in our home on a weekly basis which consists of around nine of us coming together for bible study, fellowship, prayer and of course food. Each person is very special to us and are now becoming part of our family. In particular there is one lady that has been such a blessing to us as she spends time with our children, taking them on special outings and park days. She will be known as Tamila.
Fifteen years ago when I first met Grace she was a single mum with three very busy boys. I was always at their home and being a part of their family. They became a precious part of my world as the scriptures say that the lonely will be placed in families. So it is with Tamila. She is now so special to us and our children that I can see God's hand at work in ours and her life - to be family.
Tamila is also very much like Grace. I only realised it last week that there was someone right here just like my friend I long for. Both of them are Kiwi's (from N.Z), both are competitive and both are deep thinkers. I know it is only three really major similarities but thats enough for God to show me his provision. There is really no way I could have Grace here on a weekly basis unless one of us was to move. So from the Lord I have Tamila. Thanks God.
