She'll Never Be The Same
A life alone most of the time,
She dreams of love so deep.
She gently brushes her sons hair,
As she begins to weep.
She's capable, intelligent,
An artist, mum and wife.
But now she's broken to the bone.
Her marriage full of strife.
She wanted love, security,
And a life fulfilled with much.
Each day she lives, she barely copes.
Her heart too hurt to touch.
She plans ahead for special times,
Yet the days are full of dread.
He's nice today, we'll soon go out,
But he's violent instead.
She cries for help, so silently.
The neighbours have to see.
The child, he too is broken,
While the world just lets them be.
I pray she'll have the strength to leave,
And be free from guilt and shame.
For when she does she'll be set free.
She'll never be the same.

Domestic violence has crept it's way into some of our marriages. Any kind of violence is not acceptable and out of Gods plan for our marriages. The Lord promises safety, gentleness, provision, a straight path, redemption, salvation and blessing upon us and our children. If you are experiencing violence within your marriage, talk to some one and seek help ! Especially if your children are witnessing the abuse. Many Christians suffer at the hand of abuse. Do not accept any kind of violence in your home. Pray for your way out. The Lord is a Mighty God. Ps 1:33 "but whoever listens to me will live in safety and be at ease, without fear of harm."
Please also pray for the lady that this poem is written about, her name is Kim.
