The Two Kings
There was a majestic king who ruled his kingdom. The king had a hand full of loyal servants who obeyed his commands and kept his Kingship firmly in place. He was of a long line of royal blood and guarded his future heirs with great gusto. The future of the kingdom would be determined by the princes and princesses that he bore.
One noble prince had become intimate with a maid servant. The majestic king turned a blind eye to the relationship because he knew with all of his power that he could banish the maid servant yet he chose to ignore the on going relationship.
Finally the maid servant was called by her own master to return to serve in the kingdom from where she came. The king greatly rejoiced as the prince once again turned his eyes to the things of the king.
The young prince pined for his love and she for him until a time of great turmoil came upon the land. The maid servant could no longer envision the prince's face or his gentle touch or his undying love. The maid servant found solace in another while her heart ached.
The prince continued to pursue the maid servant with all of his heart and eventually heard of the womans affection for another. It tore him in two. The majestic king witnessed all of this and he raged within. It was his duty to protect his son at all costs, the kingdom relied on him.
A short while later the king would have his chance to banish the young maid servant, he would be meeting with other royalty and knew well the master of the girl would be attending the great meeting. He determined in his heart to deal severely with her, as he knew he should.
One afternoon a message came from far away that the maid servant would be entering the majestic kings kingdom. The king made all the loyal subjects aware of her audacity and began to place road blocks within her way.
Some how the road blocks were not enough to stop her entering. The king in all his majesty was not able to keep his prince from the young maid servant. He ran to her, to the kings distaste and he embraced her, forgave her and resolved within his heart his undying love for her.
The maid servant slowly approached the king in all his majesty. All his royal subjects and servants were watching, closely. She felt weak at the kness and sick to the stomach as she approached the king in all of her shame. The king was indignant to make her life hell. She had wounded the royal prince, she had shown herself to be no more than the common maid servant that she was.
The king in all of his majesty became bitter within as he allowed the maid servant to stay for a time with his pleading prince. As he ruled his kingdom the royal subjects and the princes and princesses were all effected by the same hard hearted approach the king had now taken, toward the maid servant.
The prince knew his love for her and he knew something about her no other did, he clothed her in beauty and called her beautiful while the king and his household rjected, hurt and spoke badly of her.
It wasn't long before the great meeting was to take place with all the other royalty. This year there was to be an honoured guest attending the usual close knit meeting. A king from far away would be seated at the table of honour.
The majestic king summoned his household and all the princes' and princesses, except the young maid servant. The king in all his majesty had found out that the honoured guest was the maid servants master. He decided he would humiliate her publicly at the great meeting. They all agreed with the same bitterness which now engulfed their being.
The evening came. The majestic king arrived at the great meeting with his enterage. He looked splendid as did his entire family. As he entered the meeting hall he surveyed the room for the honoured guest. His eyes darted around the room as he sought one much the same as himself. He knew the honourable guest was a king as himself and he had heard of the power and might of his kingdom. But as he searched he found the table of honour surrounded by a great crowd.
The king in all his majesty approached the table. Seated in the seat of honour was a lowly man with great compassion in his eyes and a cheerful and peace ful radiance. The majestic king was taken back. Could this be the king he had feared and heard so many stories about. It couldn't be the honourable guest, he was the ruler of many nations and the king of all kings.
The majestic king stood silently stunned. The honourable guest stood and bowed to the majestic king.
"Majestic King, is that you? I have been waiting for you and your enterage. I have kept for you the best seats in the hall and I want to honour you because of your majesty."
The majestic king still in shock fumbled his words like a fool. Then pulled himself together and answered the honoured guest.
" King of honour, I too have been wanting to meet you. I accept the invitation to be seated at your table. I am an honoured king myself. I have future heirs and royal subjects and as you can see I am clothed in geat majesty."
The honourable king motioned for the majestic king to sit as he searched the great hall as though he was waiting for another.
The majestic King couldn't wait for his chance to talk to the honourable king about the maid servant. He knew of course that he should first be cordial and enjoy the feast to be had.
There was a break in the banquet, it was time. The majestic king began to speak.
" Honourable king, I have some grave news for you. "
The honourable king looked concerned and turned his ear closer to the majestic king.
"A maid servant of yours has entered my kingdom. She has captured the heart of one of my princes, she has wounded him beyond repair, she was found with another and has brought dishonour to our kingdom."
The honourable king asked, "What would this maid servants name be?"
The majestic king answered, "Well, I do not know, I have never inquired from my son the prince."
At that the majestic king summoned his prince and inquired of the maidservants name. Father, majestic king, her name is 'Love'.
The honourable king turned quickly to the majestic king. I have something to tell you.
Slowly and with a look in his eyes that burnt the majestic kings heart the honourable king said, "Love' is my daughter. She has struggled with the royal life and isn't sure of all I stand for, she ran away in search of more. My kingdom didn't seem to contain what she was looking for. I had given up hope but I had entrusted her to God and knew His plan would be revealed. The servant girl you talk of is of a great line of royal blood, she owns the cattle on a thousand hills and she is always dressed in scarlet and purple. She is versed in all the languages, educated by the finest professors and yet walks the streets of my kingdom to touch and hold the broken people. I too could say she has dishonoured my family and wounded my heart beyond repair. But I called her 'Love' for a reason. "
At hearing this the majestic king felt weak at the kness and sick to the stomach as he answered the king in all of his shame.
"Please forgive me honourable king. I have treated your daughter with contempt, I have made her live as an outsider, as a common servant girl. I have brought bitterness into my house hold and dishonoured myself. I am not worthy of this seat", and the majestic king stood to leave the table.
He turned to farewell the honourable king. As he did he realised the honourable king had changed. He was dressed in fine garments and wore the most brilliant diamonds upon his crown, his throne was of solid gold and his royal cape filled the room. The majestic king stood silently as the honourable king placed his hand on the majestic kings shoulder. He looked intensely into his eyes and said, "Don't leave, 'Love' has entered your heart today. You are a majestic king and your princes and princesses will rule your kingdom with great authority and ability because today you and your house hold have received love."
Suddenly the great hall became silent as 'Love' entered. 'Love' was dressed in the most expensive silks, she was adorned with diamonds and pecious stones. Her beauty was like no other, her hair was braided with the finest ribbon and her crown sparkled throughout the great hall. The majestic king had never seen such royalty.
The honourable king addressed his daughter, "My 'Love', you were lost but now you have been found. Come inherit all I have for you." The honourable king held out his nail pierced hand and lead his daughter to the seat of honour.
Luke 7:37- 48 When a woman who had lived a sinful life in that town learned that Jesus was eating at the Pharisee's house, she brought an alabaster jar of perfume, and as she stood behind him at his feet weeping, she began to wet his feet with her tears. Then she wiped them with her hair, kissed them and poured perfume on them. When the Pharisee who had invited him saw this, he said to himself, "If this man were a prophet, he would know who is touching him and what kind of woman she is--that she is a sinner." Jesus answered him, "Simon, I have something to tell you." "Tell me, teacher," he said. "Two men owed money to a certain moneylender. One owed him five hundred denarii, and the other fifty. Neither of them had the money to pay him back, so he canceled the debts of both. Now which of them will love him more?" Simon replied, "I suppose the one who had the bigger debt canceled." "You have judged correctly," Jesus said. Then he turned toward the woman and said to Simon, "Do you see this woman? I came into your house. You did not give me any water for my feet, but she wet my feet with her tears and wiped them with her hair. You did not give me a kiss, but this woman, from the time I entered, has not stopped kissing my feet. You did not put oil on my head, but she has poured perfume on my feet. Therefore, I tell you, her many sins have been forgiven--for she loved much. But he who has been forgiven little loves little." Then Jesus said to her, "Your sins are forgiven."
